Sam & Jade
Sax & Trumpet
Both Sam and Jade also play regularly with acclaimed ska band The Simmertones, who regularly perform to sell out crowds around the country, including prestigious events such as the London International Ska Festival. Sam and Jade both performed on their new single, Run For Your Life, which is available for download now and has already received airplay on BBC Radio 2 & BBC Radio 6 Music. Sam is very fortunate to have been a regular member and soloist with the Mike Westbrook Big Band since 2010, working with musicians such as Mike Westbrook OBE, Kate Westbrook, Jon Scott, Mark Bassey, Alan Wakeman, Pete Whyman, Karen Street, Roz Harding, Coach York, Billy Bottle, and Lou Gare amongst many others. Jade started her love for music off at a young age as a flautist before venturing on to the tenor saxophone at age 13. She went on to study at Dartington College of Arts as an undergraduate where she gained a BA(hons) in Music (professional practice). During her time at Dartington, she continued her jazz studies privately with jazz saxophonist Martin Dale, who was the first person to introduce her to the wonderful world of jazz improvisation. She later went on to study the saxophone at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she studied under classical saxophonists Lara James and Gerard McChrystal. She graduated as a Master of Arts in music performance in 2013.
