Hamer & Isaacs Gypsy Swing Band
Hamer & Isaacs Gypsy Swing Band play hot swinging Jazz in a style reminiscent of Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli and the Hot Club of France.
Named around its two guitarists (Rich Hamer and Julian Isaacs), the band is fronted by singer Rosie Corlett whose ability to sing in both French and English give the band a distinctly European flavour (http://www.myspace.com/rosiecorlett). Virtuoso violinist Mel Brindle (leader of the viola section for Plymouth Symphony Orchestra) lends authenticity to the band's gypsy sound with her unmistakable tone and unique swinging style - and the line-up is completed by the talented double bass guru, Rich Jones. Numerous guest musicians have also made appearances with the band.
